CampPlus – private sanitary facilities on campsites – is going to broaden its focus. The expertise of the three new owners provides new impulses. Marketing man Julian Goote: “We are particularly happy with the takeover of a high-quality production chain. By linking with our companies, there are plenty of new opportunities for further development.”
Goote begins our interview by paying a compliment to the previous owner, Erik Verwaaijen: “He has continuously developed the private sanitary facilities over the years. As a result, we are taking over a production chain that has been worked out in great detail.” Goote plans to expand the commercial department within the company. As a former hotelier, he knows the leisure sector well and is already selling Queenels tiny houses/recreational homes . Goote: “ I already see plenty of opportunities in the collaboration between Queenels and CampPlus, by combining both products and markets. ”
The production facility is being moved from the apprenticeship site in Vlaardingen to a larger one in Franeker. There, production can be further expanded under the supervision of Rik Heerema. Through his company Marlan, Heerema already supplies the dishwashing countertops for the CampPlus units and is therefore familiar with the product. Rik mentions another difference compared to the previous production line: “Previously, production was only started when a large order had come in. Here, we can also build in small batches; starting from a single piece. This allows us to serve a broader target group.” Goote adds: “We will also offer more customization in the interior design, ensuring the private sanitary facilities better align with the holiday park experience.”
A new addition that was already introduced at the Recreatie Vakbeurs Hardenberg is the provision of financing. This means that a recreation company does not have to make an investment in the purchase, and can use the proceeds to pay off the CampPlus Unit. The third partner Barry Damen, has a financial legal background and reveals that a rental option will also be introduced soon.
