The first Level Up Webinar Day by Recreatiebeleving and Pleisureworld attracted over 200 registrations. This shows that recreation entrepreneurs have a need for practical and independent knowledge regarding digitalization, revenue management, online guest experience, AI, and automation. Following the positive response, work is already underway on a second edition.

One day, multiple digital themes
During the first Level Up Webinar Day, recreation entrepreneurs gained access to knowledge from various specialists in the digital sector in a single online program. The day was chaired by Richard Otten and Johanna Oosterbaan.
In eight content-focused sessions, themes such as revenue management, direct bookings, online guest journey, marketing technology, automation, ticketing, access control, POS systems, apps, and AI were covered.
Wander Journeys, Booking Experts, GuestButler, ParcPro's, LeisureKing, EasySecure, Eijsink, and Wema Agency, among others, participated in the webinar day.
Need for an overview of a fragmented range of offerings
For many recreation entrepreneurs, the digital landscape has become significantly more complex in recent years. More and more systems and applications are available, but it is not always clear which solution suits which type of business.
That is precisely why the broad overview provided by the webinar day proved valuable. Participants received not only product information, but above all practical examples and applications from the recreation sector.
The reactions in the chat were positive. For example, participant Ruud called the sessions “very relevant, especially for small business owners.” Judith appreciated the practical examples, and Remko pointed out the added value of the Q&A function, which allowed participants to ask questions directly.
Review knowledge at your own time
Not everyone was able to attend all sessions live. According to the organizers, that was not the primary goal either. The webinars remain available for replay, so that entrepreneurs can review the knowledge when it fits into their schedule.
In doing so, the concept aligns with the practices of recreation entrepreneurs, for whom time is often scarce and digital choices are becoming increasingly important.
Digitization is becoming a management issue
For the leisure sector, it is particularly interesting that digitalization in the recreation sector is increasingly less of a standalone ICT topic. It directly impacts commercial results, guest experience, staffing, pricing strategy, and operational efficiency.
The demand for a webinar day shows that entrepreneurs are not only looking for tools, but above all for overview and clarification. Which systems reinforce each other? Where do you start as a smaller company? And how do you prevent digitalization from becoming fragmented across separate suppliers and solutions?
Second edition announced
The positive response is leading to a sequel. Johanna Oosterbaan confirms that there will be a second edition:
We see that there is a need for independent knowledge sharing and for a place where entrepreneurs can quickly gain insight into what is happening within the digital development of our sector.
Richard Otten also sees room to continue the knowledge exchange. According to him, it was particularly valuable that participants could not only follow the sessions live but also watch them back later.
