Trade day on blurring and combining concepts in leisure (FEC)

Together we are stronger. This also applies to leisure concepts that join forces. It is mainly the Family Entertainment Centers (FEC) that understand this art of combining excellently. On Tuesday 10 December, a trade day will be organised by Pleisureworld at two Flemish FECs: Sparkx (specialist in sports entertainment) and O'Learys (catering & entertainment).

Sparkx

The market for Family Entertainment Centers is still developing. Where in the early years it was sufficient to offer 4 or 5 activities within one building, nowadays more is expected of the concept, decoration and content. In the United States there are Early FECs are now in bad shape. They are overtaken by new concepts that focus on specific target groups and with distinctive concepts. A sophisticated strategy has also emerged around the combination of costs and benefits, which only fuels competition.

At the Family Entertainment Centers trade day, entrepreneurs Matieu Renier (Sparkx) and Steven Malyse (O'Leary's) a tour with an explanation of their business operations. The whole thing is provided with expert and critical commentary by organizer (and trend watcher) Hans van Leeuwen (Pleisureworld.) In addition, there will be several short break-out sessions on various topics in FEC business.

Sparkx

Sparkx is an FEC that focuses on sports entertainment, with a target group of athletes, families, friends, schools and companies. There is a choice of no less than 50 activities. Sparkx is one of the first companies in Europe that has set up a large concept around the growing phenomenon of active gaming. Plenty of activities in O'Learys Sportsbar

The owner of O'Learys in Hasselt has gained years of experience at the Ghent branch and has incorporated all his acquired knowledge into a new branch. O'Learys is basically a sports bar and the revenue model therefore largely revolves around a good F&B turnover. By offering activities, the company distinguishes itself in the nightlife and it is of great added value to adapt the programming and marketing to the calendar of popular sports broadcasts.
