Bellewaerde Park is the first Belgian park within the amusement parks and zoos sector to receive this award for the 3rd time. With the Voka Charter for Sustainable Entrepreneurship (VCDO), Bellewaerde is working on corporate social responsibility through a tailor-made action plan. This award is a reward for the continuous commitment and actions for sustainability policy.
The park therefore invests in numerous projects every year. This year, Bellewaerde Park presented a completely new park section, including a world first. In addition to the 3 new attractions, catering point and souvenir shop, the new zone is surrounded by planted natural beauty. A total of 160 trees and 700 exotic shrubs were planted. Bellewaerde Park is a green and natural park and this was absolutely extended into the new park part.
The park also has a biological water purification plant and a geothermal network. A training and research platform (tamer) was installed in the giraffe stable for our endangered Rothschild giraffes. Since March you will find several smoking zones in the park. This is to create a healthy and pleasant environment for all visitors, young and old.
