Bobbejaanland is investing more than 3 million euros in entertainment this fall

Bobbejaanland in Lichtaart, Belgium, wants to give the winter season a boost by featuring two themed periods. First, there's the popular Halloween theme (October 2–November 11), followed by a wintery theme called "Bobbejaanland Wintert" (December 6–January 6). A total of over €4 million has been earmarked to provide the decorations and internet entertainment during these periods.

Bobbejaanland and Halloween

Bobbejaanland isn't new to building branded haunted houses. In 2018, the park introduced Welp, and a year later, it unveiled Yummy, based on the first zombie film ever made in Belgium. Now, the park is taking a much more international approach!

By partnering with Paramount, Bobbejaanland demonstrates its ambition to remain the best Halloween event in Belgium and beyond. In consultation with Paramount, the park chose to build a haunted house based on one of the Paranormal Activity films, "Next of Kin," which was released in the United States in 2021.

The film follows a young documentary filmmaker, Margot, with a dark past. She finds information about her family online and travels to a remote Amish community hoping to find answers about her missing mother.

"Our team and I went through the Paramount film catalog and quickly set our sights on a film from the Paranormal Activity series. Combined with the powerful storyline of Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin and several iconic scenes that could be adapted to a haunted house, the decision to go with this film title was an easy one," says Peggy Verelst. "We're convinced that with Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin, we'll present our guests with a haunted house that will be quite different from the six other impressive haunted houses on offer." Halloween fans who find the haunted houses a bit too much will, just like last year, be treated to a grand opening parade and plenty of entertainment in the four different scare zones: Monkey Clan, Circus Carnivalé, Whispering Waters, and Plaza de los Muertos. Show lovers will get their money's worth during 'The Curse of Houdini.' Alfredo Lorenzo returns with new illusions and even more spectacle. Do you enjoy visiting Bobbejaanland after dark? This is possible again during our 6 nocturne evenings with a fantastic fire show on the water to end a richly filled day.

Bobbejaanland Wintert

For the first time in history, Bobbejaanland opens its gates during the winter. For 18 days, the park will be bathed in a sea of twinkling lights and winter cheer for the whole family.

"For Bobbejaanland, this is a logical next step in the park's growth! A theme park isn't just about rides; everything surrounding them, such as entertainment and theming, is becoming increasingly important to guests. Halloween is proof of that. That's why we felt it was time to add a new entertainment period to our opening calendar," explains Yves Peeters.

Bobbejaanland promises more than 25 rotating rides, atmospherically lit paths, and crackling fires. A large ice rink is being built on the pond where skating is free. The park is planning four spectacular winter shows daily that will delight everyone with music, dance, and spectacle. Santa Claus is eager to meet all the children, and the elves need all the help they can get to get Santa's order ready on time. Add a refreshing drink and a tasty winter snack to complete your experience! Bobbejaanland Wintert opens on December 4th and closes its doors after the Christmas holidays on January 6th.
