The construction of the new Woezel & Pip park in Hoogerheide, Family Resort & Adventure Park De Tovertuin, officially started on Saturday 21 September 2024. Owner of the new park, Michael van Hoorne, and Alderman Schuurbiers of the municipality of Woensdrecht were present. They symbolically gave the key to the park to the sweet dogs Woezel and Pip, who thus received the starting signal to build their new world.
This action marked an important milestone in the transformation of the current Familyland holiday park into a new themed family park, which will welcome its first visitors in 2026.
In addition to the official start of construction, an exhibition was also opened. In recent months, people from the region have been able to hand in historical photos of the holiday park and the surrounding area to the holiday park. These photos are now on display and are located next to the future plans for the park, which gives a unique impression of the past and the future. The exhibition is now open to everyone. In addition, the park's facilities can still be used in the coming months. The catering and bowling alley will remain open until 1 January 2025 and will then close for renovation. The swimming pool is already closed for major maintenance.
Van Hoorne Studios, owner of the beloved children's brand Woezel & Pip, announced in February that it had signed an agreement for the purchase of holiday park Familyland. This location will be transformed into an imaginative place for families with children up to the age of 10, completely dedicated to the dogs Woezel and Pip and their friends. The park, which will open its doors in 2026, will consist of a theme park with various attractions and a holiday park with themed accommodation.
