Duinen Zathe invests in eight new attractions

Duinen Zathe Traffic and Amusement Park in Appelscha will expand in 2026 with the opening of eight new attractions. This will nearly double the total number of attractions. It is the largest investment since the park opened.

Exactly which new attractions will be added remains a mystery for now. Details will be announced in the coming months. The attractions will be spread across various areas of the park. To create a sense of unity, new themes will be created and existing zones expanded. While the new attractions will appeal to a broader audience, the park will maintain its vision of being an affordable family park for children up to 12 years old.

Large-scale works

To accommodate the eight new attractions, large-scale renovations are currently underway at the park. "It's a complete renovation," says Renaldo Lier, Head of Technical Services at Duinen Zathe. "We're getting almost twice as many attractions in a single winter. It's a truly special project to be involved in."

To accommodate the new attractions, the Super Nova, the Flying Swing, and the Dream Tree, a meet-and-greet location for mascot Spur the Caterpillar, were removed. "These were beloved attractions among our visitors, but I'm sure new favorites will take their place. I can't wait," says Lier.

Future-proof

Duinen Zathe plays a prominent role as a leisure destination in the northern Netherlands. The park attracts visitors from all over the country every year. With the expansion, the park expects strong growth in both visitor numbers and tourism in the Appelscha area. To remain future-proof, it's important to continue investing in innovation, but the park also wants to continue offering an affordable day out in this competitive market. This expansion marks a significant step in the park's development.

Work on the new attractions has already begun. Most of the rides will be installed by the end of January. The opening of the new attractions is scheduled for Friday, April 3rd, at the start of the new summer season.
