The third quarter shows a decline in Dutch online spending on services, falling by 6% (compared to Q3 2024) to €2,7 billion. Tickets for attractions & events (-13%) and package holidays (-11%) are the main contributors to the decline in online spending on services.

The average amount spent on package holidays has fallen sharply (-11%). Unlike the total number of online purchases in the Netherlands (which is rising), the number of online service purchases has dropped significantly, by 9% to 12,3 million. This is due to a sharp decline in online purchases of individual airline tickets and accommodations (-13%) and tickets for attractions and events (-9%). For tickets for attractions and events, not only the number of purchases but also the average amount spent per purchase (-5%) and the number of online buyers (-3%) are declining.
