Fletcher Hotels is expanding with two hotels in the center of Schagen as of September 1, 2026. With Hotel Marktstad and Slot Hotel Schagen, the chain gains 82 rooms in one go and strengthens Fletcher's position in North Holland.

Two hotels, 82 rooms
Fletcher Hotels is acquiring Hotel Marktstad and Slot Hotel Schagen as of September 1. The four-star Hotel Marktstad, opened in 2020, features 69 rooms. The adjacent Slot Hotel Schagen has 13 rooms.
The hotels will continue as Fletcher Hotel-Restaurant Marktstad-Schagen and Fletcher Slothotel Schagen. According to Fletcher, the current employees will be retained.
The combination is interesting because two different accommodation products are added to one location: a relatively large modern hotel and a small-scale historic castle hotel.
Housed at Fletcher Deluxe
Both hotels will become part of the Fletcher Deluxe label within the chain, under which Fletcher positions its more luxurious hotels.
According to CEO Rob Hermans, Fletcher also sees opportunities to grow further from Schagen with events, weddings, business meetings, and restaurants.
The addition of Hotel Marktstad and Slot Hotel Schagen is a great step in our continued growth. We see great potential in locations that combine a strong local base with opportunities for further commercial development.
Rob Hermans, CEO Fletcher Hotels
Strengthening accommodation supply in North Holland
The hotels are centrally located in Schagen and cater to both leisure and business guests. For the leisure market, the location offers access to West Friesland and the North Holland coast.
The acquisition fits within Fletcher's growth strategy, in which the hotel group adds existing accommodations in tourist destinations to its own portfolio. By immediately acquiring two adjacent hotels in Schagen, the chain can serve different target groups and price points from a single location.
