In 2025, young adults spent an average of 69 euros per day at major festivals. However, the amounts vary considerably: 7% even spent more than 150 euros in a single day. Men, non-students, and those living at home spent more money. Differences between festivals themselves are also significant: at one festival, an average of 17 euros per day was spent, while at another, it was well over 100 euros.

The cost of entrance tickets and overnight stays was not included. This therefore only concerns expenses on the festival grounds during the festival. The transaction data does not allow for a closer look at the various spending categories.
Rabobank analysts observe differences between groups of young adults. The younger group (ages 18 to 24) spent an average of €66 per festival day, while the older group (ages 25 to 30) spent an average of €75 per day. Furthermore, men spent more at festivals than women. The average daily amount for men was €77, and for women, €58. We also see differences between young adults who are and are not students: while students spent an average of €60 per day, non-students spent an average of €77 per day.
For this study, the transactions of 22 music festivals in the Netherlands in 2025 were analyzed. These are 22 festivals from a list of 31 festivals with the highest visitor numbers (30.000 or more).
