Sales of holiday homes for Landal Landscape Resort Bergervenne in Maaseik (Belgian Limburg) have begun. As is customary with these large projects, some of the holiday homes are sold before construction begins.

Various real estate agents, including Vakantiemakelaar (Netherlands) and 2HB (Belgium), announced the start of sales on their websites last week.
The project is initiated by Leisure for Life . Park operation and marketing are carried out by Landal.
The development of 81 homes is planned on a 5-hectare plot. The town center amenities include a reception area, daytime restaurants, an indoor play area, a lounge, a park shop, and bicycle rentals. Five types of homes are offered, ranging in price from €224.000 for the two-person Bergerven suite to €721.000 for the 10-person Kempenrijk group villa.
The natural surroundings are a key selling point; situated in the Bergervenne nature reserve and bordering the recreationally attractive Hoge Kempen National Park. Furthermore, the project is conveniently located to appeal to Dutch and German short breaks as well.
At Landal Resort Bergervenne, renting out your property is mandatory, with limited personal use options. Owners are allowed to use the property for up to 12 weeks per year (including 4 weeks in high season).
Recreational real estate in Belgium
The market situation for investments in recreational real estate in the Netherlands has not improved in the recent period (to put it mildly). Uncertainty regarding Box 3 tax plans and the increase in VAT from 9% to 21% on the rental of holiday homes are putting pressure on the market in the Netherlands. In the Belgian market, VAT on the rental of accommodations was increased from 6% to 12% effective March 1, 2026.
