The new water attraction Amazonia in the Belgian amusement park Bellewaerde will be closed indefinitely due to persistent technical problems. Amazonia is a prototype and unique in the world. This entails many technical challenges. The attraction manufacturer INTAMIN will carry out work in the coming weeks to solve the technical problems.
The introduction of the new water attraction has already caused the park various headaches. For instance, the completion date was not met, meaning the start of the season had to take place without the major new attraction. At the time, the new Mundo Amazonia themed area was opened, but still without the top attraction. The world premiere could finally be opened at the end of April 2024. But even that did not go without problems. In the meantime, the new attraction experienced several moments of technical issues.
We understand that this news is a disappointment for our visitors, but the safety and quality of our attractions come first . We hope that the attraction manufacturer can provide an effective solution soon. At this moment , we cannot give an exact reopening date.

The new zone, Mundo Amazonia, will remain open to the public. There, visitors can use the new kiddie coaster “Brazilian Buggies”, the mini tree trunks “Rio Do Cacao”, the new catering point “Tropical Takeaway” and the new souvenir shop “Samba Souvenirs” open to the public.
