Hotel chain (Fletcher) and hospitality concept (De Beren) launch collaboration

Fletcher Hotels and restaurant chain De Beren are launching a collaboration. The first location opens on October 5 at Fletcher Hotel-Restaurant Marknesse. The restaurant explicitly targets not only hotel guests, but also residents and visitors from the region. In doing so, a well-known hospitality brand within a hotel is being utilized to attract independent restaurant visitors as well.

De Beren will open a restaurant at Fletcher Hotel-Restaurant Marknesse in Flevoland on Monday, October 5, 2026. It is the first De Beren location within a Fletcher hotel and, according to both parties, marks the starting point of their collaboration.

The restaurant will have the recognizable look of De Beren and will be used for lunch, dinner, and drinks.

Hospitality services must also attract guests from outside the hotel.

An interesting aspect of the collaboration is that the restaurant is not being set up exclusively as a catering facility for hotel guests.

De Beren and Fletcher also want to turn the location into an independent hospitality destination for Marknesse and the surrounding area. This gives the hospitality within the hotel a dual function: service for overnight guests and a distinct reason for residents and visitors from the region to visit the location.

For hotel businesses, such a collaboration can be interesting when a well-known restaurant brand adds extra local appeal.

According to De Beren CEO Ad Schaap, the accessible restaurant concept aligns well with a hotel environment.

With the establishment in Fletcher Hotel-Restaurant Marknesse, we therefore want to be not only part of the hotel, but also truly a restaurant for Marknesse and the region.

Fletcher also sees an overlap in target audience. CEO Rob Hermans says that, in his opinion, both brands appeal to the same target group and expects that the local appeal of De Beren can strengthen the position of the location.

Who operates what?

For entrepreneurs, the practical question of how such a collaboration is structured financially and operationally is then of interest. Will the restaurant be operated by De Beren, will Fletcher use a formula or franchise structure, and how will hotel packages, breakfast, restaurant revenue, and joint marketing be divided?

The press release provides no details about this. Nor are any statements made regarding a possible revenue sharing or financial agreements between Fletcher and De Beren.

That is precisely what makes further development interesting. When two major hospitality brands collaborate at a single location, the business case lies not only in the brand on the facade, but also in the way reservations, staffing, purchasing, packages, and revenue streams align.

The first location is the starting point of cooperation

The opening in Marknesse is explicitly described by both parties as the starting point of the collaboration. The press release does not yet mention any other specific Fletcher locations where De Beren will also open.

The first location can therefore demonstrate the extent to which a recognizable restaurant concept within a hotel manages to attract additional restaurant visitors from the region, alongside existing hotel demand.

Opening on October 5

The official opening of De Beren Marknesse will take place on Monday, October 5. De Beren will become part of Fletcher Hotel-Restaurant Marknesse.
