Self-study package 'Through the eyes of the visitor' is now available for free

Tourism Flanders is making a particularly extensive course package for 'Customer-oriented thinking in the recreation sector' available free of charge. This course is specifically designed for museums and attractions. The best way to do human-centered design is universal; Design Thinking, or human-centered design.

'Through the Eyes of the Visitor' is a step-by-step guide to the world of human-centered design. It focuses on visitors to attractions and museums. You are the 'chief experience officer', responsible for creating unforgettable experiences. Together with your team, you strengthen the reputation of your attraction.

Originally this is a course with physical guidance and practical assignments. So keep in mind that you will miss this part of this self-study - or possibly have to supplement it on your own initiative.

The course consists of the following components:

  • Understand the challenge (including an explanation of the process you are entering – and an explanation of the various steps)
  • Understand the needs (what motivates the different target groups – and what do they need)
  • Define your mission and the playing field (set your target on the horizon – this will keep you on track.)
  • Devise prototype and test (make plans concrete)
  • Show and evaluate

The course was designed by Gelotology
