The first locations for the very first National Games Week have been announced: from October 26 to November 1, a table will be ready throughout the country where everyone can pull up a chair. The first companies from the museum and recreational sectors have also already joined in, including Ouwehands Zoo and the Maritime Museum Rotterdam.

With the launch of spellenweek.nl, which went live today, places throughout the country can register as a Spellenweek location. In addition to the pioneers mentioned in the introduction, the Natuurmuseum Brabant in Tilburg is also listed. Education is participating as well: at schools such as the Gooise Praktijkschool in Hilversum and primary school Helder Camara in Teteringen, games will be brought into the classroom that week. And in libraries, community centers, shops, and cafes nationwide, games specially selected for the week will be available, with tables for anyone who wants to play along.
Join in as a game location
You can join as a game location up to and including September 30, 2026. Locations pay a contribution of €99,95 (excluding VAT) and receive a nice set of 18 board games in return, which may remain at the location afterwards. The promotion of the location is also handled by the central organization.
