Pathé has opened the doors of the first Pathé Games in the Netherlands in Nijmegen. Following the popular Go!Gaming and digital escape experience X-Cube experiences in the cinema, Pathé offers visitors the opportunity to make their outing even more complete with Pathé Games, featuring a range of classic and modern gaming machines based on themes from iconic films.
During the opening weekend, visitors in Nijmegen could try out a free game and experience the unique atmosphere of Pathé Games. Whether you like racing, shooters or classic games like air hockey and pinball machines, Pathé Games has something for everyone.
The arcade hall, located in the foyer of Pathé Nijmegen, features various gaming machines where visitors can play games. The twelve machines are themed after iconic films such as Tomb Raider , Marvel Avengers , and Star Wars . These cinematic themes ensure that the connection to the film world is maintained, while visitors can enjoy an interactive gaming experience. Pathé Games is a collaboration with Highlife Amusements, the supplier of the gaming machines.
With Pathé Games, Pathé offers its visitors a new way to expand their outing: the arcade hall is a perfect addition to a visit to the cinema. Whether it's solo gaming or a fun challenge with family and friends: there are games available for one to four people, perfect for every occasion.
Proven concept
Pathé Games is not new to Pathé; in France the concept is already a proven success, with multiple locations in various cinemas. The location in Nijmegen was carefully chosen because of the existing group of visitors who are open to this type of entertainment and the suitable space. With Pathé Games, in addition to Go!Gaming and X-Cube, Pathé Nijmegen now offers even more experiences for cinema visitors, so that there is something for everyone. Go!Gaming focuses on advanced Gaming PCs, the latest gaming consoles such as the Playstation 5 and High-end SIM racing equipment, while Pathé Games offers arcade games.
Bram van den Broek, Director Business Development: “We are very proud to announce that the first Pathé Games location is opening its doors at Pathé Nijmegen. We are always looking for the best way to serve our target audiences. Gaming continues to grow in popularity, and Pathé Games offers a fun, shared experience in a unique location. It is the perfect addition to our cinemas, making them even more the place where people can enjoy the best forms of entertainment together.”
