On Saturday 5 July, the renovated Plopsa park in Coo officially opened under the name Plopsaland Ardennes. This new name fits in with the European growth strategy of the Plopsa Group, after previous developments such as Plopsaland Deutschland. At the same time, an important expansion was realised: with the new theme zone Mayaland, the park area increases by 20%. This is the largest investment since the takeover by Plopsa in 2005.

With an investment of 4 million euros, Mayaland includes six family attractions and a new catering point with a covered terrace. The beautifully designed zone of around 5.000m² focuses on families with young children and significantly strengthens the park's offering.
There are three new attractions in the Mayaland theme area: The Swinging Bumblebee, the Swinging Tree and the Drop Tower.

On the occasion of the opening, the new show 'Maya is celebrating her birthday', around Maya the Bee's birthday, premiered. Visitors were also able to taste a new theme product for the first time: the Maya Waffle, exclusive to Plopsaland Ardennes.
With the new name Plopsaland Ardennes, the group wants to further invest in theming, shows and experience in the coming years.
"With this new name and the opening of Mayaland, a new chapter begins for our park. We are proud of our location in the heart of the Ardennes, together with the famous Coo Waterfalls. We will continue to use these strengths, together with the experience that visitors to Plopsa are used to."
Pietro Vergalito, Park Manager of Plopsaland Ardennes
“With Plopsaland Ardennes we are taking the next step in our ambition to grow Plopsa as a European theme park group. We want families all over Europe to enjoy the experiences around our characters. I am incredibly proud of what the Plopsa team has achieved here.”
Carl Lenaerts, CEO of the Plopsa Group
