Holiday park and campsite Toppershoedje in Ouddorp distinguishes itself through its location right behind the dunes and the striking variety of accommodations, catering to a mix of target groups. The park is primarily aimed at families with children, but couples, young and old are also well catered for there.
Extreme this year
Park Manager Roland Hoogwerf: “This year is particularly extreme, with expansions of accommodations, 16 new chalets, 10 hotel chalets, 16 mobile homes, 4 beach lodges, and 40 renovated comfort pitches for tourist camping. I think the investment in camping is particularly striking.”
RCN-Toppershoedje already offers a variety of accommodation options. Nevertheless, the park is expanding again. “In addition to the expansions, we are also dealing with maintenance in the spring. This week, for example, the spray park, the interactive water playground, was brought up to date. Furthermore, we relocated and redesigned our reception area last week using our own staff.”
Cultural heritage
Roland Hoogwerf is particularly enthusiastic about the comfort pitches currently being worked on. The earthworks are in full swing. “We are dealing with cultural heritage. In and around Ouddorp lie so-called 'schurvelingen,' medieval earthen ramparts that were constructed at the time to hold back drifting sand. We have built steps so that special plants are not trampled.” The RCN park manager is optimistic and confident that the main works will be completed before the high season begins.
