Sparkx is developing the largest Sports Entertainment Center in Europe in Nieuwegein

The indoor sports park in Nieuwegein will be Sparkx's fourth park and the first outside Belgium. The first three parks are located in Ghent, Hasselt, and Antwerp. At approximately 7.500 square meters, it will also be Sparkx's largest park to date.

The initiators opened the first location in Hasselt in 2023. On that occasion, their ambitious goals of establishing a European chain of Sports Entertainment Centers were already on display. See also:

The company has signed a lease agreement with the owners of De Beursfabriek, Edwin Loeff and Gertjan van de Wal, to build a sports and amusement park on the Blokhoeve site in the municipality of Nieuwegein – an area already equipped with infrastructure for organizing events (including several exhibition halls).

Besides athletes, families, and friends, the target group also includes schools, companies, and (sports and youth) clubs, who can enjoy more than 50 different sports. Sparkx aims to welcome the first athletes in the Netherlands by the fall of 2026. With this next step, Sparkx underscores its international ambitions.

"The move to the Netherlands is a new milestone in Sparkx's growth story. It will be our first international park. The popularity we've rapidly built in Belgium gives us confidence that the demand for a refreshing, accessible way to exercise is also high internationally. At our sports parks in Belgium, more than 1 in 10 sports enthusiasts comes from the Netherlands. We're convinced that our sporting concept will also appeal to the Dutch. We see Nieuwegein and the Utrecht region as the ideal springboard for realizing our international ambitions in the coming years."

Mathieu Renier, CEO of Sparkx

Construction at the Dutch event venue Beursfabriek will begin before summer. If all goes according to plan, Sparkx hopes to open its doors to the public in the fall of 2026, located in the most central location in the Netherlands, near the A12 and A2 motorways. This location makes the park extremely accessible by both car and public transport.
