The total number of locations operated by TeamSport will now be 43. The majority of the locations are in the UK. This is the third location in the Netherlands. The acquisition follows the successful acquisition of Groningen Karting & Bowling and the opening of TeamSport E-Karting in The Wall Utrecht in July 2023.

Established in 2016, The Maxx has built a strong reputation by offering a wide range of activities, including a state-of-the-art electric go-kart track, 14 lanes of (Hyper)bowling, 18 holes of glow-in-the-dark minigolf, 16 racing simulators, laser tag, various escape rooms, pool tables and arcade games. Guests can also enjoy a wide range of dining options, from table grills to a lively Amsterdam Café with karaoke, making it a must-visit location for all ages.

Located next to the A12 motorway with free parking, The Maxx Veenendaal is perfectly positioned to attract visitors from across the region.

Dom Gaynor, CEO of TeamSport, said regarding the acquisition: “We are delighted to welcome The Maxx Veenendaal to TeamSport and mark a new milestone in our European expansion. The Maxx is an excellent location with a fantastic variety of activities that perfectly align with our goal of providing unique and unforgettable entertainment experiences, aiming to have at least 66 multi-purpose activity centers by 2026. We recognize the great work that Eric Achterberg and the team have achieved at The Maxx over the past 8 years and we look forward to working with them to continue that fantastic success in the coming months and years.”

Founder and owner of The Maxx, Eric Achterberg, added: “After growing The Maxx for 8 years, I am pleased that TeamSport is taking over the reins together with the current team. I am convinced that they will continue to deliver the excellent experiences our customers appreciate, while also introducing new ideas and innovations in the future.”

The current team at The Maxx will remain after the acquisition to lead the business forward, ensuring guests can continue to enjoy the same excellent (local) service and experiences they have come to expect. While the location will remain largely unchanged for the time being, there are exciting plans for the future.
